DUNCAN — The Ada Large College boys tennis group gained the championship Wednesday at the Duncan Invitational.
The Cougars totaled 65 factors to seize the title. The host Demons had been runners-up at 56, adopted by Lawton Eisenhower at 53, Edmond Santa Fe at 52 and the Byng Pirates at 47.
It was the fifth tournament championship the Ada boys have brought home so much this spring.
“The boys had a fantastic working day in Duncan. Anyone performed hard and competed,” said Ada head coach Terry Swopes.
Ada won personal championships in No. 1 Singles, No. 2 Singles and No. 2 Doubles and finished third in what Swopes referred to as “a loaded No. 1 Doubles attract.”
The Cougars faced brisk winds all through the day.
“It was windy, but the boys managed it and performed by way of it,” Swopes claimed. “It was a great day. We even introduced 4 further players to get expertise and all of them medaled.”
Sophomore Halton Redwine blazed previous Zale Coleman-Hill of Guthrie 6-, 6-1 to assert the No. 1 Singles title. Trenton Hensley of Ada concluded ninth in the No. 1 Singles attract with a 6-2, 6-1 get around Byng’s Devon Smith.
